EvergreenHealth has a new president and vice president of medical staff to oversee patient care following a recent election.
Taking on the role of medical staff president is Robert E. Geise, an infectious disease specialist at EvergreenHealth Infectious Disease Care, while pediatric hospitalist James O'Callaghan is vice president. Former president Scott Burks, who served from January 2014 to December 2015, will stay on in an immediate past president leadership role.
Geise spent the past two years as medical staff vice president, leading the Performance Excellence and Quality/Peer Review committees. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, performed both his internship and residency at George Washington University Medical Center and completed his fellowship training in allergy/infectious disease at the University of Washington.
O'Callaghan is the lead pediatric hospitalist at EvergreenHealth as part of the Seattle Children's Regional Hospitalist program. He has provided oversight as the medical staff's section chief of pediatrics since 2007 and is also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
