At 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting a house fire in the 100 block of Kelsey Street and arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the two-story structure.
Firefighters from Duvall, Snohomish, Sultan, Gold Bar and Clearview also responded, and the fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes.
The resident of the home was not there when the fire broke out. The Red Cross provided assistance to the displaced resident.
Investigators called the fire suspicious. The house was badly damaged.
