Monroe Public Schools has partnered with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA) to provide a flu shot clinic for the community on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Monroe High School, 17001 Tester Rd.
Influenza is a serious and potentially dangerous disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the single best way to protect you and your family from influenza is to receive a "flu shotGÇ¥ each year. The CDC recommends that everyone, older than six months of age, should be vaccinated against the flu.
The clinic will be open to all children (four years of age and older) and their families. Please note that students younger than age of 18 will need a Patient Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian. Patient Consent Forms will be available at the clinic site or online on the schools' website at www.monroe.wednet.edu.
All participants will be asked to provide their health insurance information (card) to receive an immunization. SVNA will electronically bill your insurance plan. They bill all insurance plans including Apple Health (Washington State Medicaid) plans.
Those who cannot provide insurance information may receive a flu shot for $28, cash or check only.
Flu shots are considered preventative care and are not subject to deductibles or co-pays.-áThis means no out-of-pocket expense for participants, according to SVNA officials.
