With 2015 officially underway, there is no better time than the present to embark on a new workout regimen, or revive one that has fallen to the wayside. In addition to helping with weight control, regular exercise helps with conditions like high blood pressure, anxiety and depression, energy levels and sleeping habits.
Here are just a few examples of places to get in shape in Sky Valley:
Anytime Fitness in Monroe

Since 2011, Monroe resident Christie Buie has lost more than 175 pounds at Anytime Fitness. In the beginning, Buie was a bit apprehensive about joining a gym, but she found a supportive yet non-intrusive community there that was different than what she had experienced at other gyms.
"I absolutely love the supportive, non-judgmental environment,GÇ¥ she said. "AF Monroe is a small gym. People GÇô staff and members GÇô bother to learn your name, and it feels like more of a community than just a gym. While the environment is friendly, it's not everyone standing around talking and just looking at the weights. People at AF say hello, offer some encouragement and then go about their routine. It's a good mix.GÇ¥
