Gold Bar Firefighters holding pancake breakfast fundraiser

The Gold Bar Firefighters Association is hosting its second annual pancake breakfast to raise money for student scholarships and community members in need.

The event will take place 7 GÇô 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Snohomish County Fire District No. 26 Station 53 at the corner of 5th and Lewis streets in Gold Bar, 501 Lewis St. The menu will include pancakes with all the trimmings, eggs, sausage, coffee and orange juice. Firefighter Parker Andrilenas will be serving as the chef, and donations will be accepted at the door.-á -á

Gold Bar Firefighters Association President Cole Neves helped coordinate the event.

The Gold Bar Firefighters Association engages in various community outreach efforts throughout the year. This year, they created two new scholarship opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in the fire service.

The Les Putnam Memorial Education Foundation scholarship will help Snohomish County Fire District 26 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) obtain paramedic training, while the Bert McClellan Memorial Scholarship will assist Sultan High School graduating seniors interested in becoming first responders.
