To The Editor:
We have some comments on the changeover at Valley General Hospital, Monroe. The hospital has now merged and is now a part of the Evergreen Health Care System. This is a good thing.
As a patient both my wife and I had excellent care in the main hospital and also in the Emergency Room. The Doctors and staff were friendly and also very professional. Having spent my working early life in the Health Care Field and my wife spent all her working life as a Registered Nurse, we have some idea of what kind of care to expect.
My understanding of the area served by this hospital is very large, from the top of Stevens Pass clear into part of Snohomish. If the Hospital was not there, people with serious illness or in an auto accident the person or persons would have to travel an extra 20 to 30 minutes minimum to reach the hospital in Everett.-รก Also this would be an added expense for patient visitors and family to travel to the hospital beyond Monroe.
When the levy vote comes up both Barb and I plan to vote yes and urge all others to do the same.
