Hunger Is campaign taps Sky Valley Youth Coalition as local charity partner

By Brandon Macz

Donations made at the Monroe Safeway will go toward purchasing breakfast food items for Sultan middle and high school students through the Albertsons Companies Foundation’s Hunger Is campaign.

The charitable program aims to end childhood hunger in America, and the Sky Valley Youth Coalition at Volunteers of America Western Washington has been tapped as the local charity partner for Safeway.

The youth coalition is comprised of Sultan middle and high school students, who have worked to establish food pantries in their respective schools.

The breakfast food items funded through Hunger Is will be available at the food pantries for students in need to take home during the weekend.
