James K. Cowardin, 58, of Sultan WA passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015. Jim was born October 8, 1956 in Seattle Washington. He moved to Startup in 1964 where he attended Sultan Schools and graduated in 1975. He received an Associates degree in Travel and Industry from Edmonds Community College. As a lifelong resident of the Sky Valley, Jim was involved with the Toastmasters, the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, the Historical Society, and the Senior Center. He performed with the-á Leight Fantastics Variety Show for many years in Snohomish One of Jim's favorite hobbies was canning and baking. He entered his items in the Evergreen State Fair, receiving many awards over the years. Prior to his passing, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream by taking an Alaskan Cruise this summer. Jim was employed at the Fred Meyer Store in Snohomish as a Sales Associate for many years. He had a great love for his job and his co-workers. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Gloria Cowardin. He is survived by his brothers Mike and wife Linda, John, Jeff and wife Ammie, sister Kristi and wife Ginette, nieces Emily, Shelby, Stephanie, nephew Jeremy, and great niece Marley. Jim's wishes were to have a Potluck Celebration of Life, which we will honor on October 17, 2015 at the Sultan Senior Center from 1pm to 5pm in the VOA Complex.
