Jersey Mike's Subs opening in Monroe; franchisee raising funds for school district

Ray Neyens will open his Monroe Jersey Mike's Subs franchise on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 19555 State Route 2, with a fundraiser in support of the Monroe School District running through Sunday.

This will be Monroe's first Jersey Mike's, and is the sixth of 15 new franchise locations planned for the Puget Sound area since an agreement was signed with Red Polo Ventures in late 2014.

Thousands of coupons have been circulated throughout the community for a free regular sub with a $2 minimum contribution to the school district.

"We're very fortunate to open our doors in Monroe and continue serving our authentic product and customer experience,GÇ¥ Neyens said in a news release. "As a tradition at Jersey Mike's, our grand opening will focus on supporting the community through a 5-day fundraiser.-á We chose to partner with Monroe School District to raise money for their schools. We will also be adding a second part to our fundraising efforts where we give back $3 for every fundraiser coupon redeemed over the first 12 days of our grand opening.GÇ¥
