Jewels of the Northwest cat show at Evergreen fairgrounds this weekend

SeaCats, a chartered club of The International Cat Association will host Jewels of Northwest April 29-30 and May 1 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.


Jewels of Northwest will feature hundreds of cats from the United States, South America, Canada, Europe and Russia that will be evaluated by 20 judges for a shot at a regional win to go to the International Win.
Among a number of popular cat breeds that will be viewable from the show hall are some some rare breeds, including the longhair bengal, Savannah F1 (domestic/serval hybrid) and a lykoi (werewolf cat).
Door prizes will be given away Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30, and there will be educational opportunities, breed lectures and selfie booth in the show hall. Several rescues will also be at Jewels of the Northwest looking for people to provide forever homes for their cats.
Jewels of the Northwest runs 3-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children and seniors and military members get in free.
The Evergreen State Fairgrounds is at 14405 179th Ave. S.E., Monroe.A lykoi (werewolf cat) will be one of the rare breeds on display during the Jewels of the Northwest.
