Larry Albert Livingston March 1, 1929 - March 10, 2017

Larry Albert Livingston, 88, was born in Rapid City, SD to George and Loretta Livingston on March 1, 1929. At the age of three, the family moved to Vancouver, WA. Larry met his future wife ,Marge Schreiner, in Waitsburg, WA, at a pea cannery where they both worked during Marge’s summer break. They married, and Larry joined the Army. After a tour in France and Germany, he and Marge settled in Shoreline, WA. Later, they found their dream property, with a mountain view, in Monroe, WA.  The home was built and became the gathering place for holidays, weddings, and great parties for the next 49 years.

Larry retired from a career at University Volkswagen. Always eager for new experiences, he and Marge traveled through Europe, Indonesia and Mexico. Golfing was one of his passions and he could often be found enjoying time with his friends at Blue Boy West Golf Course. Larry was a former member of the Seattle Elks Club. For nearly 50 years, he was active with the Monroe Lions Club, and became a Melvin Jones Fellow in 2012.

A true “Renaissance Man,” Larry will be remembered for making wine, lemon bars and Papa Bread, as well as for his love of airplanes, his ability to fix anything, and his hole-in-one. We will greatly miss his sincerity, kindness, sense of humor, love of a good party, and generous heart.

Larry passed away on March 10, 2017, leaving behind his loving wife of 66 years, Marge, his son Mark (Kerrin), his daughters Claire (John), Mary (Roy), Diane (Jack), and Sue (Mike); grandchildren Michelle (Jeff), Lizzy, Jeff, Ben (Jill), Brian, Ryal, Jenna (Ryan), Dane, Lukas, Sami, Lauren, and Hailee; great-grandchildren Sage, Luna, Riley, Conner and Morrison. He is survived by his sister Patricia Locke, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Loretta Livingston, brother Jim, and granddaughter Nicole.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at the Tualco Grange Hall, 18500 Tualco Rd., Monroe, on Sunday, March 26th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monroe Lions Club or the American Cancer Society.
