Turk starting pitcher, #22 Steven Leverett, a senior, makes the tag at home, covering for the catcher in the Turks' 6-3 win over South Whidbey Island on a blustery, sunny Monday, April 29 in Sultan. Leverett and the rest of the Turks had a very good day; the visiting Falcons jumped to a two-run lead, holding the Turks scoreless until the breakout third inning, when Leverett smashed one over the fence for a grand slam.
The Turks never looked back.-áLeverett went the full distance at the mound, striking out nine, a fitting sendoff for the Turks Class of 2013. The seniors included A.J. Allen, Sterling Shaw, Travis Cornell, Steven Branham and Jay Leverett.
The Turks stand 5 - 13 and 5 - 14 on the season.
