Macaroni Kid, Grow with Me host second annual Costume Swap Day

The publisher for the Macaroni Kid Cherry Valley website has teamed up with Grow with Me Boutique in Monroe for the second annual Costume Swap Day.

Rather than buying a new Halloween costume this year, Grow with Me will be accepting children's old costumes through Friday, Oct. 9, and inviting kids and parents back Saturday, Oct. 10, to pick up a new-to-them costume during the swap.

"I am excited for this event and am glad it has become an annual tradition,GÇ¥ said Erin Chamberlain, Macaroni Kid Cherry Valley publisher. "A swap is a great way to keep costumes and dress up clothes out of landfills, offers children the chance to make more creative decisions about their costume choice, and with the average costume costing $30, it saves parents a ton of money.GÇ¥

Costumes can be dropped off 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at Grow with Me, 19575 State Route 2. In exchange for the costumes, donors will receive a swap ticket to redeem for a new costume 9-10 a.m. Oct. 10, also at Grow with Me. Other pickup arrangement can be made by contacting Chamberlain at erinch@macaronikid.com.

Swap participants will also receive a 20-percent discount for Grow with Me merchandise.
