Children's Programs:
Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, May 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: May 7, 14, 21 and 28, 10 a.m. AND 11 a.m. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, May 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime (Bilingual): Thursdays May 8, 15, 22 and 29, 11 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5. Presented in English and Spanish.
Reading with Rover: Saturday, May 24, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.
Teen Programs:
Monroe Library Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, May 6, 3:30 p.m. Enjoy some snacks and share ideas for library programs, purchases and improvements while earning volunteer credit.
Junior Monroe Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, May 7 and 21, 4:30 p.m. Support and guidance for teen writers. All writers in grades 6-12 are welcome.
Squishy Circuits!: Tuesday, May 13, 3 p.m. Join other teens to learn about electronics and create circuits with LED lights using conductive play-dough.
Adult Programs:
Going Batty: Saturday, May 10, 11 a.m. Scary bats, dingy bats, and pretty bats. Learn the truth about bats and dispel the myths. They are shy, gentle and beneficial mammals. Barbara Ogaard from Sarvey Wildlife Center and Bats Northwest will give an introduction to bats of the world using props, slides and live bats. For all ages.

Children and Families
Hiking Snohomish County with Craig Romano: Monday, May 12, 6:30 p.m. Hike the trails of Snohomish County with award winning guidebook author, Craig Romano.
Book Sale & Bake Sale: Saturday, May 31, 8:30 a.m. GÇô 5 p.m. Browse a room full of gently-used books and get some treats to eat. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Sultan Library. Donations in good condition are welcomed.
Adults
Friends of the Library Meeting: Thursday, May 15, 9:30 a.m. Join with other community members to enhance the local library through a variety of fundraisers, including book sales, bake sales, and more.
Growing Healthy Children, A STARS Training: Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m. This workshop is designed for early learning professionals who work with pre-schoolers and pre-kindergartners. Participants will identify ways to integrate math and science into storytime; discover ways to develop learning experiences that enhance a child's innate sense of wonder. Two STARS Credits.
