Julie Loan Kim Ky will host a reading and book signing at the Monroe Library Meeting Room on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Ky's book, "A Rose on the Steel GroundGÇ¥ details her struggles while living in Viet Nam; fleeing that country; supporting her family remaining in Viet Nam and eventually landing in Western Washington and, more specifically, the Monroe Post Office, where she greets citizens at the front counter.
The author has enjoyed success in the publication of her first book. Ky recently returned from a book signing in N. Dakota, and her books are now being sold at Walmart.
