Melvin Troy Osborn
(1941-2014)
Trapperlake resident Troy Osborn, 73, passed away on July 3, 2014 in Anchorage after a 14 month battle with cancer.
Troy was born May 19, 1941 in Forks, Washington. He served six years in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy Troy was a butcher in Auburn and Federal Way, Washington. Troy moved to Alaska in the early 70s, cutting meat in Anchorage for many years. Changing professions, he went to work at Red Dog Mine, driving trucks. Troy spent his retirement years at Trapperlake, fishing, hunting, listening to classic country music and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Troy is survived by his son, Troy (Brandy) Osborn and grandson, Kenneth, of Florida; sisters, Karen (Calvin) Crape of Entiat, WA, Sharon (Rick) Gibson of Tonasket, WA, Janice (Cado) Brown of Arlington, WA; Aunt Hildur Gunnel of Sequim, WA; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his Trapperlake family.
Troy was preceded in death by his wife, LoAnn; father, Kenneth (Virginia) Osborn; mother, Belma (David) Randall and brothers, Gary and Alan Osborn.
Troy's ashes will be spread at Trapperlake at a later date. The family would like to thank his special friends, Linda and Jim Buchanan, Bruce Johnson and Karen Hodge for all the help they gave Troy.
Troy will be greatly missed.
