Monroe council confirms Daniels for Salary Commission

The Monroe City Council voted to confirm Mayor Geoffrey Thomas' recommendation of Patrick Daniels to a position on Monroe's Salary Commission during the Feb. 9 council meeting.

The position became vacant after the resignation of Josh Gibson, who was appointed in October. Daniels ran for Monroe City Council last November, losing to Councilmember Kirk Scarboro. He's lived in Monroe for 19 years, and served as a volunteer for the Monroe School District's Budget Review Committee for four years under former Superintendent Dr. Ken Hoover.
