The Monroe High School Sports Medicine Club is hosting a "For the Love of your HeartGÇ¥ 5k Fun Run/Walk on Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. at Lake Tye.
The entrance fee is a $15 donation, which includes a T-shirt. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Nick of Time, which educates young athletes, their families and schools about sudden cardiac arrest in young people. The money raised will send students to the state Sports Medicine Competition in Spokane, Washington, this spring.
