Children's Programs:

Fun facts and activities, while discovering why crows are something to crow about.
Spring Spectacular: Make your own Puppets: Wednesday, April 3, 1.p.m. Listen to stories told with puppets, and then make your own. For ages five and up.
Spring Spectacular: "Wreck-it Ralph:GÇ¥ Thursday, April 4, 1 p.m. Watch the animated film "Wreck-It Ralph,GÇ¥ and then stay for a drawing to see who will go home with the DVD of the movie. Rated PG.
Spring Spectacular: Otis the Otter's Birthday Party: Friday, April 5, 1 p.m. Today is Otis's birthday. Take him to a place where he's never been before, and then tell us all about it by writing in his journal or taking a photo.
Spring Spectacular: Frogs Aplenty GÇô Frogs Galore! Saturday, April 6, 1 p.m. Frogs aplenty, frogs galore; in story, song, a craft and more!
Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, 10 a.m. AND 11 a.m. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, April 4, 11, 18 and 25, 10 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime (Bilingual): Thursdays, April 4, 11, 18 and 25, 11 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5. Presented in English and Spanish.
Reading with Rover: Saturday, April 27, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.
Teen Programs:
Junior Monroe Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, 5:30 p.m. Support and guidance for teen writers. Led by published author Bernadette Pajer and Teen Librarian Lindsay Hanson. All writers in grades 6-12 are welcome.
Monroe Library Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, April 9, 3:30 p.m.
Come meet new people, help develop teen library programs, discuss teen concerns and talk about books'all while earning volunteer credit and having fun! Snacks will be provided.
Teen Gaming: Tuesday, April 16, 3 p.m. Enjoy Wii and XBox Kinect games including Guitar Hero, Dance Central, Mario Kart and more. Board games and snacks available. For ages 12-18.

Adult Programs:
ESL Talk Time: Mondays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 7 p.m. A time for adults to practice speaking English in a friendly and supportive setting. This free, drop-in program is led by a library volunteer.
Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, 7 p.m. Weekly support and writing guidance, by published author Bernadette Pajer. All writers welcome, fiction and non-fiction.
Interviewing Techniques for the Job Seeker: Tuesday, April 9, 1 p.m. In this workshop, you will learn valuable interviewing tips and have the chance to practice answers to frequently asked, and sometimes difficult, questions in a supportive, realistic environment. Provided in partnership with WorkSource.
DSHS Basic Food Table: Tuesday, April 9, 2 p.m. Stop by the table in the lobby to get information and have your questions answered about the DSHS Basic Food Program between 2 and 4 p.m.

Does your Child have Dyslexia? Saturday, April 13, 1 p.m. Kendra Wagner, dyslexia specialist, explains what dyslexia is and what to do about it. Other local experts will join the discussion. Questions and answers will follow.
Beginning Catalog and Internet Class: Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m.
Learn to search the Internet, access library databases, set up an email account and use the library catalog. Please pre-register at the Information Desk or by calling the library.
Growing Healthy Minds: A Stars Training Series: Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. Supporting Numeracy Development Though Children's Literature: Explore chants, songs, finger plays, manipulatives, real objects and play, as well as some of your favorite children's books that support numeracy development in young children. Preregistration required.
Eliminate Chaos: Tuesday, April 30, 7 p.m. Organizing consultant Laura Leist will teach you how to avoid the three biggest organizing mistakes, the 10 steps to organize any room, and how to make simple changes that make a powerful impact on daily activities.
