Children's Programs:
Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, August 5, 12, 19 and 26, 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: August 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10:30 a.m. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, August 7, 14, 21 and 28, 10 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.
The Science of Bubbles: Tuesday, August 5, 2 p.m.Have fun experimenting with bubbles in an environment that encourages discovery and cooperation. Play bubble tennis, make art with colored bubbles, and more. Designed for children ages 5 and up.
Germ Wars: Tuesday, August 12, 2 p.m. Virus or bacteria? How do germs make you sick? Make your own germ model, learn how difficult hand-washing can actually be, and see how far you can sneeze. For school-aged children.
Science Magic: Tuesday, August 19, 2 p.m. Science magician Jeff Evans raises questions about the way objects behave, then reveals the scientific reasons behind them. For school-aged children.
Reading with Rover: Saturday, August 23, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.
Adult Programs:
Monroe Library Board: Thursday, August 14, 7 p.m. Share your interests and concerns at the Library Board Quarterly Meeting.
Drugs in Our Communities: Thursday, August 14, 7 p.m. Monroe Library Meeting Room. What you should know, what you can do. Overdoses, crime, ruined lives. As wonderful as life is in eastern Snohomish County, illegal drugs are taking a toll here. At this public forum, experts will explain the scope of drug use in our communities, answer questions and listen to ideas and concerns.
