Children's Programs:
Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, Mar. 4, 11, 18 and 25, 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays, Mar. 5, 12, 19 and 26, 10 a.m. AND 11 a.m. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, Mar. 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime (Bilingual): Thursdays, Mar. 6, 13, 20 and 27, 11 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5. Presented in English and Spanish.
LEGO-« Simple Machines: Tuesday, Mar. 18, 3 p.m. Discover engineering concepts by using gears, pulleys, levers, wheels and axles to build LEGO-« creations. Ages 8-12 will be paired with teens to have fun building while spurring their observation, reasoning and critical thinking skills. Space is limited, so please register in advance online or with a staff member.
Reading with Rover: Saturday, Mar. 22, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.
Teen Programs:
Monroe Library Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, Mar.4, 3:30 p.m. Enjoy some snacks and share ideas for library programs, purchases and improvements while earning volunteer credit.
Make your own Brush Bot: Tuesday, Mar. 25, 3 p.m. Join other teens to make a Brush Bot using a toothbrush, motor and battery. Grow new technology skills you can use for school or fun.
Adult Programs:
Kickstart your Suburban Homestead: Saturday, Mar. 1, 2 p.m. Are you dreaming of starting your own backyard homestead and producing your own food? In this interactive workshop, you'll learn to use library resources and gain the expertise you need to successfully grow and preserve vegetables, raise chickens, or even brew your own beer. Please preregister online or by phone.
