Children's Programs:
Ready Readers, Baby and Me Storytime: Tuesdays, May 7, 14, 21and 28, 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, rhymes, and activities that inspire a love of reading. Playtime follows. For newborns through 18 months. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Toddler Storytime: Wednesdays, May 1, 15, 22 and 29, 10 a.m. AND 11 a.m. Stories, music and movements that nurture the desire to read in toddlers. Playtime or craft may follow. For ages 18 months to 3 years. Caregiver required.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime: Thursdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 10 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5.
Ready Readers, Preschool Storytime (Bilingual): Thursdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 11 a.m. Books, sing-along songs, and creative activities that prepare young minds for reading. For ages 3-5. Presented in English and Spanish.
Reading with Rover: Saturday, May 25, 11 a.m. The Reading with Rover program is designed to help kids strengthen reading skills and improve reading confidence.
Teen Programs:
Junior Wednesday Writers: Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 4:30 p.m. Weekly support and writing guidance, by published author Bernadette Pajer. All writers welcome, fiction and non-fiction. NOTE: Amazon bestselling author Susan Wingate will speak about her books and the craft of writing on Wednesday, May 1 at the Junior Monroe Wednesday Writers at 4:30 p.m.
Monroe Library Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, May 7, 3:30 p.m. Enjoy some snacks, and share ideas for library programs, purchases and improvements.
Teen Gaming: Tuesday, May 14, 3 p.m.m Enjoy Wii, XBOX Kinect and Play Station 2 games including Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Mario Kart and more. Board games and snacks available. For ages 12 to 18.
Teen Movie, "Here Comes the Boom:GÇ¥ Tuesday, May 21, 3 p.m. Watch "Here Comes the Boom" with friends and enjoy some snacks. Participants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a copy of the DVD.
Adult Programs:
ESL Talk Time: Mondays, May 6, 13 and 20, 7 p.m. A time for adults to practice speaking English in a friendly and supportive setting. This free, drop-in program is led by a library volunteer.

Monroe Book Group, "Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's:GÇ¥ Tuesday, May 14, 7 p.m. This month's selection is "Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger'sGÇ¥ by John Robinson. Copies are available for checkout at the Customer Service Desk.
Does Your Child Have Dyslexia? Part 2: Saturday, May 18,-á 1 p.m. The series on dyslexia continues with the help of the Washington State Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Through a series of hands-on stations, experience what it might be like for a child who has dyslexia.
Friends of Monroe Library: Tuesday, May 21, 7 p.m. Guests and new members are welcome.
Beginning Catalog and Internet Class: Saturday, May 25, 10 a.m.
