The winter months can be challenging for the Sky Valley Food Bank, which is why the Monroe Lions Club is collaborating with community partners to coordinate the "Give from the HeartGÇ¥ food drive 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Monroe Walmart.
Dashing Dutchman's Deli owners Ernst "DutchmanGÇ¥ Terhorst and Susan Whitfield have volunteered use of "da Bus,GÇ¥ a repurposed passenger bus owned by Terhorst and Sam's Cat and Dogs, Naturally owner Sam Wirsching. Members of the Monroe Lions Club hope to solicit enough food donations to "stuff da BusGÇ¥ during the event.
