The Monroe Middle School track team finished a successful season May 26 at the North County League Finals at Lake Stevens High School.
The team competed against Centennial, Cedarcrest, Valley View, Cavelero and North Lake Middle Schools.

Brandon Lester is on the right and fifth and sixth from right are Cole Lance and Steven Rochlin.
Lester placed second in the event with a time of 2:27. Earlier in the meet Lester set a new seventh-grade boys record for Monroe in the mile with a time of 5:18. Isabel Garza placed first in the eighth-grade girls 400-meter run. Konnor Kinghorn won the 110-meter hurdles for eighth-grade boys. Kalea Funston took second in the hurdles for eighth-grade girls and Sierra Dayley placed second in the seventh-grade girls mile race.
The seventh-grade girls 4x2 relay team placed first in the league championships.
