Police report a 66-year-old Monroe man was arrested after he allegedly attacked another vehicle with a knife during a road rage incident on Wednesday afternoon.
Two Monroe men, 18 and 19, reported a confrontation ensued when they honked their horn at a Pontiac Grand Am that pulled out in front of their vehicle on Blueberry Lane and then slowed down dramatically. The Pontiac pulled over to let them pass, but the alleged victims claim the driver then proceeded to follow them, yelling and gesturing out his window.
The men pulled into a parking lot on West Columbia Street to let the Pontiac driver pass, but reported seeing the vehicle parked down the street when they returned to the road.
It's at this point that the men reported pulling alongside the Pontiac, which caused the 66-year-old driver to allegedly get out with a knife and lunge at the passenger side of their vehicle, according to a Monroe Police news release.
The men left the scene, as did the assault suspect, who was arrested a short time later in the 800 block of West Main Street. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail on second-degree assault charges.
A family member picked up the suspect's 15-year-old grandson, who had been in the vehicle during the altercation.Photo courtesy of Monroe Police A 66-year-old Monroe man allegedly used this knife to attack another vehicle during a road rage altercation on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
