A tradition started nearly 10 years ago, Movies Under the Moon is back again this August for another exciting selection of movies for the whole family. Every Friday at dusk, a movie will play Lake Tye Park, 14964 Fryelands Boulevard, in Monroe.
The movies are free, with popcorn, drinks and candy available for purchase at concessions.
The movies set to be shown are "Inside OutGÇ¥ on Aug. 5, "PixelsGÇ¥ on Aug. 12, "Jurassic WorldGÇ¥ on Aug. 19 and "Star Wars: The Force AwakensGÇ¥ on Aug. 26.
The Monroe Concert Band, YMCA and Monroe Boys & Girls Club will provide pre-event activities. Activities for kids to participate in each week will start at 8 p.m. The activities will be themed to follow the movie shown that night.
Partners of the event are Republic Services, Monroe Arts Council, Monroe Family YMCA, Monroe Concert Band and the Monroe Boys & Girls Club.-á The Monroe Library and the Monroe Public Schools Foundation assists in the hands-on children activities.
