Northwest Heritage Resources presents a performance of Native American storytelling on Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Sultan City Hall Community Meeting Room, 319 Main St. Roger Fernandes is an enrolled member of the Lower Elwha Band of S'Klallam Indians. He will share myths and legends of Coast Salish tribes across the region, looks at the teachings with the stories and examines their relevance to the modern life of indigenous people. Lois Landgrebe is from the Tulalip reservation and is largely of Snohomish tribal heritage. Landgrebe learned many local Native American legends from a tribal elder at Tulalip and works leading interpretive tours and storytelling at the Hibulb Cultural Center on the Tulalip reservation. Admission to the performance is a donation of $5. There will be no advance ticket sales. The event is in partnership with the Sultan Historical Society, the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Ethnic Heritage Council. It is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, 4Culture, the Washington State Arts Commission and Northwest Heritage Resources.
