Over 25 from Monroe Class of 2014 earn AA degrees

More than 25 students in Monroe Public Schools' Class of 2014 have already earned a two-year Associate of Arts degree from local community colleges through the state's Running Start program.
Through Running Start, students in grades 11 and 12 are allowed to take college courses at state community and technical colleges, as well as some universities. Students do not pay tuition; though they must pay college fees, buy books and provide their own transportation. Credits earned apply to both high school graduation requirements and college degrees.
