PHOTO: Monroe's Main Street Cafe opens in former Hitching Post site downtown

Photo by Chris Hendrickson MonroeGÇÖs new Main Street Caf+¬ opened its door last week, allowing customers to sample menu items that include the Reuben, the Monte Cristo and owner Sandra AdkinsGÇÖ freshly made soup. Adkins decided to implement a GÇ£soft openingGÇ¥ in hopes of working out the kinks before her upcoming grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. The Monroe Historical Society stopped by the soft opening for a late lunch, including president Tami Kinney, secretary Dexter Taylor and trustee Chris Bee. Adkins hopes to hold her grand opening by mid-December. Located in the former Hitching Post site at 107 W. Main St., the caf+¬ is open 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days a week.
