Monroe Police officer Javier Patton shows off one of the department's new motorcycles to children attending the Summer Star Club activities following Monroe Public Schools' Summer Lunch Program at Frank Wagner Elementary School in Monroe.
Patton talked to the children about his work as a police officer. In addition, Patton and the other officers attending set up an obstacle course for children to try, as an example of the importance of physical fitness to public safety work and in life.
Summer lunches are served noon to 12:45 p.m. each weekday at the school. All youth below the age of 18 and from any community are invited.
