Plant, rummage and bake sale May 11

On Saturday, May 11, the Monroe Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale, and the East County Senior Center will hold a Mother's Day Bake and Rummage Sale. These events will be held at the East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway in Monroe.
The plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the senior center.
In addition to a variety of plants there will also be available handcrafted, garden-theme items made by club members.
There will be entertainment provided by the senior center's Village Voices, who will sing plant-related songs.
The proceeds from this sale provide a scholarship that will be awarded to a Monroe High School senior going into the horticultural field, and it also funds several community beautification projects.
The Monroe Garden Club is accepting donations the plant sale.
Anyone with plants to share can drop them off on Friday, May 10 between noon and 5 p.m. at the senior center, 276 Sky River Pkwy. Club members will pick up donations, if needed.

According to Linda Cline, a member of the senior center's board of directors, the bake and rummage sale will be held inside the center, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The proceeds will be utilized to benefit senior center activities.
