Police: DUI suspect arrested after striking cop car

By Brandon Macz

The Washington State Patrol arrested a woman for DUI on Monday afternoon, after she reportedly struck a parked Monroe Police vehicle.

MPD administrative director Debbie Willis tells the Monitor officers responded to an assault call in the 400 block of East Fremont Street, contacting one suspect at South Ann Street and Railroad Avenue.

A sergeant parked his patrol car on Railroad Avenue, where the collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. Aug. 13. No one was in the vehicle at the time, according to Willis, and the damage was minor.

The female driver was contacted by officers, who suspected her of being under the influence, so WSP was called to investigate.
