Police: Monroe man shoots up girlfriend's pickup

Monroe Police report a 36-year-old Monroe man was arrested Sunday after reportedly shooting up his girlfriend’s truck two days earlier.

According to the department, Ronnie Hynes was arguing with his girlfriend in the 17400 block of 156th Street Southeast on Friday night, Sept. 29. She told police he then punched her truck window and used his pistol to shoot the truck multiple times. The MPD reports witnesses had directed officers to where they had seen the couple arguing after police responded to the shots-fired call around 9 p.m.

Hynes reportedly fled the scene in a black Dodge Ram prior to officers arriving, and he did not return calls from law enforcements, according to MPD.

Officers responded to Hynes’ home on Oct. 1, after he contacted dispatch and said he wanted to speak with police, but he ended up not being home, according to a news release. His vehicle was spotted heading east on Main Street 45 minutes later, at which point Hynes reportedly turned into the MPD parking lot and was taken into custody without incident.

Hynes was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for malicious mischief 2 (domestic violence) and aiming-discharging firearm-dangerous weapon charges.
