Got something to say about Monroe's schools? The district wants to hear it. So this year, for the second year in a row, the district is looking for volunteers to take a quick online survey to give feedback on various aspects of Monroe education.
The annual project was born of a survey that school board member Nancy Truitt Pierce wrote while she was campaigning for her post two years ago.
That, along with last year's survey, gives the school district a baseline of data from which to measure public opinion trends, said school district communications director Rosemary O'Neil.
"It's an opportunity for us to get some data from the community about their perceptions of the school," she said. "We already do surveys for students and family; this one is for the whole community."
The survey takes about five minutes or less, and asks such questions as; In the last five years, how have you seen Monroe's public schools change? and; What do you think is the biggest challenge for Monroe Public Schools? What do you think is the biggest issue?
There is also a place to rate such aspects of the district as educational choices, the administration, academic rigor and more.
The survey concludes with some demographic questions, and it can only be taken once from any one computer.
The survey can be found at http://www.monroe.wednet.edu/.
