The search for the Monroe woman who fell over the falls at Cedar Ponds Lake has been suspended.
Rising water levels hindered the search and rescue teams scanning tributaries and pools for Jazmine Weitlauf, according to Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Lt. Ian Huri. The 22-year-old's disappearance was called in by friends just before 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office reports there is no reason to believe the fall was intentional. A few of her personal items had been retrieved by the end of last week.
On the first night responders spent hours at the scene, south of U.S. Highway 2 off Dagger Lake Road, according to agency. Swiftwater rescue teams and other volunteers were out until 11 p.m.
Responders conducted an aerial survey on Friday, and divers surveyed Youngs Creek, downstream from where Weitlauf went into the water. Seattle Police and King County also sent aid out to help with the efforts.
Teams will go back out once water levels recede, according to Huri. Sheriff's office spokesperson Shari Ireton said the area will be checked regularly.
