The Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program applications are now available at www.sssc.org and at local senior centers. -áEligible low-income seniors will receive $40 worth of checks to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at authorized farmers markets or farm stands.
The deadline to apply is June 5. Eligible individuals must complete and mail an application to Nutrition Program/SFMNP (11627 Airport Road, Suite B, Everett, WA 98204). -áAll applications must be postmarked by June 5. -áBecause of the limited number available, checks will be distributed by a random selection process among the total applications received. -áChecks will be mailed by July 10 to those whose names were selected.
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, operated by Senior Services of Snohomish County, is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the State of Washington.
Senior Services of Snohomish County is a nonprofit organization that provides services to 35,000 people each through its nutrition, housing, transportation and social services programs.
