Sky to Sound Water Trail Coalition sets feedback series

The Sky to Sound Water Trail Coalition invites people who live or recreate on the Skykomish and Snohomish rivers to attend a series of meetings to help inform the emerging Sky to Sound Water Trail project.
The first meeting, the Skykomish-Snohomish River Property Owners Forum, takes place 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the 4-H building at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. The meeting is being hosted by the Sky to Sound Water Trail Coalition and facilitated by Snohomish County Parks Director Tom Teigen.
"The first meeting brings private land owners, public land managers and law enforcement together to discuss rights and responsibilities with regard to the public and river recreation,GÇ¥ states Snohomish County Strategic Tourism Plan Coordinator Annique Bennett in an email.
The meeting will include a panel discussion with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Aquatic Lands Division, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Forest Service and Washington State Parks.
Property owners with concerns about recreational use and private property trespassing on the Skykomish and Snohomish rivers are invited to attend.
Subsequent meetings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, at Sultan High School and 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Robert J. Drewel Building in Everett.
"The second set of meetings will include an opportunity for community members and river users to learn and provide feedback on planning and managing the Skykomish and Snohomish Rivers as a water trail,GÇ¥ Bennett states in a news release.
