The Sky Valley Little League Giants went undefeated in the District 1 Tournament of Champions.
“When you go to the Tournament of Champions, every team there is a champion in their own league,” said Giants coach Brett Collins.
The Monroe Majors team clinched the championship June 11 at Lynndale Park in Lynnwood. The Giants took fourth at last year’s tournament.
“We took the whole shebang,” Collins said of this year’s victory, “went undefeated 5 and 0.”
Collins added the Giants were 21-2 for the entire Little League season.
“I’ve coached for 18 years, and this team is the best cohesive team that I’ve ever had,” he said.
Of the 11 Giants team members Collins coached, nine will have an extended season on the All-Star Team.
