Fifth-grade students in Snohomish County participated in the 2014 Gear Up & Go! Winter Games during the two-week period when schools were out. In the second year of this competition, 2,353 students and faculty participated in the Winter Games, which ran Dec. 20 through Jan. 3, and awards were given to the top two schools (Columbia and Pioneer elementaries) in Snohomish County with the highest percentage of students participating in the competition.
The Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition created Gear Up & Go! to increase healthy activity among fifth-grade students in Snohomish County and to encourage lifelong healthy habits.
