Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick announced that the City of Sultan Wastewater Treatment Plant is receiving the 2013 "Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding PerformanceGÇ¥ award.
Approximately 300 wastewater treatment plants are considered statewide and Sultan is one of 125 that achieved full compliance with its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit in 2013.
"This is the second consecutive year the Sultan Wastewater Treatment Plant received this award,GÇ¥ commented Eslick.-á"It takes diligent operators and a strong management team, working effectively together to achieve this high level of compliance, and I'm very proud of Sultan's operators, John Harris and Todd StromGÇ¥.
