Mrs. Adams of Fryelands Elementary got a big surprise Thursday when she learned that a student's nomination had led to her being named Teacher of the Week on Star 101.5 FM.
Student Braxton Nordlund nominated Adams, and she was surprised in her classroom. Star 101.5 afternoon host Corine McKenzie came with her crew and Ronald McDonald to honor Adams with a $100 check, a gift card to Sky Nursery and a makeover. They brought goodie bags and t-shirts for students and the teacher. A camera person from KOMO 4 was also there to film a small segment for the news
When asked why Adam's was nominated, Braxton' s mother explained that he had some challenges getting settled in school and Mrs. Adams went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and successful in his learning.
Ronald McDonald passed out apple slices and apple juice from McDonalds and read a story to the class.
