March 16 was a very successful day for the Sultan Turks. The varsity softball team was away at Coupeville High School and won its very first game 11-0. The varsity baseball team also played its first game against Coupeville High School that day and defeated them 6-0. The varsity soccer players played on the home field and won their match 3-0 against Cascade High School.
The musical program has been quite busy lately. On Saturday night, it held its annual jazz night, with a chicken parmesan dinner, along with an evening filled with jazz music and dancing. There were also silent auction tables with items to help fund the music program.-á
Last Tuesday, the Sultan Musical Program hosted its spring concert, where all three choirs performed, along with the concert band. All of the performed pieces will be taken to contest this week, as they compete against other high school bands and choirs. The concert was a good practice round and an excellent way of displaying improvement over the year to family members and supporters. The band will go to contest on Wednesday and the choirs will go on Tuesday.-á
The spring marching band drum line and color guard auditions are done, and the first practice was on Monday, March 23. They will practice two songs by Bruno Mars' "Uptown FunkGÇ¥ and "Runaway Baby.GÇ¥-á

Apply for the March Foundation Scholarship. Last year, two of our students received a full ride from this opportunity. Pick up an application from Ms. Garibay.
Counselors are taking 45 students to the Dare to Dream, Students of Color Career Conference at Everett Community College on March 26. More than 1,600 students come together to meet last year and learn from a wide variety of professionals of color, and receive insight on what it takes to achieve their dreams and go to college. Stop by the Counseling Center to reserve your spot.
If you are in AP Literature or AP Government, you can now sign up to take the AP exam to potentially get college credit. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, March 25. Please go to the main office to register and pay the AP exam fee.
Remember Turks, show pride in our school by taking care of your garbage and recyclable items. Keeping our campus clean takes little effort when we all care and do our own little part!-á
Turk drivers, please remember to drive safely and within the posted speed limits. This includes coming to or from school, especially in school zones and residential neighborhoods.-á
