At far left is the 1961 addition to the original stucco building that was constructed and opened in 1925 on the grounds of the Snohomish County Poor Farm. The name was later changed to Valley View Hospital, and was sometimes called Monroe General Hospital. In 1960 it became Valley General Hospital when Snohomish County Public Hospital District No. 1 was created.
