At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, Monroe Police Officers were dispatched to an assault with a weapon report on White Mountain Road S.E. in Monroe.
The victim was a 31 year old female from Marysville. Earlier in the evening, the victim had stopped at the Jack in the Box near the intersection of U.S. 2 and Roosevelt Road. She was approached by a male and female who said they had a family emergency and needed a ride to a family member's house. She drove the couple to White Mountain Road S.E. and, upon arrival, the male pointed a gun at her and told her to get out of the car. The couple left in the vehicle and the victim ran to a residence for help.
At 8:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious activity call on Westwick Road in which a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle was in the driveway of a residence with the engine running. It appeared that someone was trying to hide in the vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the stolen vehicle abandoned. Two K-9 teams searched the immediate area and were unable to locate the suspects.
The vehicle, a silver 2008 Nissan Altima, was towed to the Monroe Police Department as evidence; a search warrant is pending.
The suspects are described as a white male, 5'6GÇ¥, 160- 170 lbs., with light colored hair, wearing a red hoodie, and a white female, 5'7GÇ¥, skinny, dark complexion, black hair, wearing a dark colored coat. These suspects may be known to the registered owner of the vehicle who was not present at the time of this incident.
This does not appear to be a random act.
