Nelson has been fundraising for the American Flag project since the end of August.

Rowe, VFW Junior Vice Commander Joe Stone Sr., Pastor Aaron Day and Pastor Sean Wilkerson. Sivewright will welcome attendees with a brief presentation at the start of the celebration.
Veterans Day became officially recognized in a concurrent resolution passed by the United States Congress in 1926 as a method for commemorating the official end of World War I. On November 11, 1918 a temporary cease fire was ordered between the Allied nations and Germany. The order went into effect at the onset of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Later, in 1938, Nov. 11 became an official legal holiday.
Though it was originally referred to as "Armistice Day,GÇ¥ in 1954 legislation was approved to change the title to "Veterans Day,GÇ¥ so that the honor would encompass all American Veterans inclusively. The holiday is meant to celebrate the commitment of all those who have served and continue to serve in the United States Military.
