WIAA taps Monroe High sophomore for Athletes of the Week honors

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) named Monroe High School sophomore Colby Kyle as one of 12 Athletes of the Week last week for his achievements in basketball.

Kyle was nominated by a community member for his 21 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots during Monroe's winning game over Mariner High. Kyle followed up that performance with 17 points, 18 rebounds and five blocked shots in a loss to Cascade High School in Everett.

Each Athlete of the Week receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA executive director Mike Colbrese, a commemorative T-shirt and a certificate.
