William Scott Nickerson


William Scott Nickerson was born on September 13, 1960,-á to Art and Jean Nickerson.-á He was the youngest of five children and spent a happy, carefree childhood in the small town of Brier, Washington.-á His first job was at Plywood Supply-á Company and then, in September 1982, he began working at the Sultan Red Apple Market.-á The greatest joys of his life were his two sons, Zachery and Isaac. Bill developed an interest in rock climbing at a young age and that, along with hiking, became a lifelong passion.-á A list of his adventures and a blog can be found at Mr. Bills Vertical Adventures online.-á Due to serious heart issues beginning at age 39, sadly Bill's climbing days came to a close. He still enjoyed some hiking and took many trips to Leavenworth with his family and also traveled to Arizona, Alaska, California and Hawaii. He bought a home in Gold Bar and resided there until his death on May 14, 2015. Bill is survived by his two children, mother Jean, brother Mike (Catherine), brother Marvin (Susan), sister Barbara (Tom) and sister Beverly (Tom), along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Monroe.-á He passed away peacefully, with his family at his bedside, in the University of Washington hospital.-á He leaves behind a legacy of faith and great courage, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.William Scott Nickerson
