Pierce County Councilman Jim McCune running for state Senate

Pierce County Third District Councilman Jim McCune has announced his candidacy for the open senate seat in the 2^nd Legislative District being vacated by retiring Sen. Randi Becker.

McCune served for eight years in the state House of Representatives and almost eight on the Pierce County Council. During his tenure for the council, he served as the County Council Public Safety Committee chairman and focused on fighting human trafficking and worked to fund a property crimes task force to crack down on nuisance properties, according to his announcement statement.
