Eatonville Town Council Feb 10 Recap

Law enforcement issues dominated the hour-long Feb. 10 meeting of the Eatonville Town Council.??

The council unanimously passed Resolution 2020-E, authorizing the mayor to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Washington State Department of Corrections. Essentially, the DOC would be allowed to rent office space for $100 a month in Eatonville as part of the department’s efforts to check on people in the area under its supervision.

??The council carried over into its next meeting Resolution 2020-F, authorizing the mayor to sign a contract with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department for special services such as major investigations and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) responses. Council members had questions regarding jurisdictional issues and paying by incident versus paying per capita, so the resolution will be brought up again at the Feb. 24 meeting.
