Betty Jo Simonson September 19, 1947 - August 10, 2018
Betty Jo Simonson, 70 of Orting, Washington lost her battle with cancer on Friday, August 10, 2018. She was born on September 19, 1947 to Donald and Lois (Rawlinson) Mabbott in Renton, Washington. She was the one of eight children. She grew up in White Center. In 1947 She married Jerry A. Simonson and they had three children. Betty worked for Boeing for 30 years and retired in 2006. Betty was a very talented lady who could do or build just about anything. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, woodworking and was an active member of the PNW4WDA. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald, her mother Lois, her brothers Donny and Roy, her sister Yvonne, her brother-in-law Wayne and her nephews Wayne and Kirk. She is survived by her husband Jerry, Sr, her sons Jerry, Jr. (Kathy) and Dan (Mikki) Simonson, her daughter Kellie (Rob) Solomon, her brothers Raymond, Arlie (Julie), and Jim Mabbott and sister Barbara (Jerry) Swanstrom, sister-in-law Susan (Curt) Nakata, eleven grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A memorial celebration in Betty’s honor will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Orting Eagles from 12:00-5:00 p.m.
